~ Nashille ! Singer of Welk TV, Christian Radio, Baby Boomer Concerts, Choir Ministry

Booking

Versatility has been the key to Jim's  lengthy career in music, and agents like to know the different ways in which he can be presented. Jim Turner  has sung light opera in front of a symphony orchestra, adding 'Pops' to round out the evening. He has performed with a five piece band at rodeos, convention centers and 'Night in the Park'. Usually J.T.  plays guitar to accompany himself and the band, but when he is in a cruise ship-style of showroom doing 'Broadway-medleys', he sings and walks amongst the audience. He has been on several cruises, sailing from both the Los Angeles port and the Miami port.  Recently, he did an extended engagement in the main showroom on the Colorado Belle Riverboat, pictured.  Video & press clippings are available for interested pastors and promoters.

Even more unusual is the fact that Jim can perform 'self-contained'. He has the Colorado Bellerhythm equipment and instrumental tracks to over 1100 songs, and can be a real 'one-man band'. This type of booking does well in auditoriums, churches and convention groups on a lower budget. He performed this way for five straight years in his own theatre at Knott's Berry Farm, attracting an audience of all ages and backgrounds.  Always the "entertainer", Jim has no trouble keeping the interest of audiences of all ages for the full hour, or even longer. His church concerts have been called "annointed", and many souls have come forward at the altar call after giving his God-given talents to the crowd. It is always a blessing to perform the Lord's work, both to the "churched" and the "unchurched". His ministry is one of outreach, bringing families together for faith, country and love.

Of course, Jim Turner  still performs with his 'Musical Family', the Lawrence Welk Show. He recently was on stage at the large theatre in Branson, Mo. for a reunion concert, and he is looking forward to hosting the Nashville PBS station's Fall Pledge Drive, during the Welk Hour. During a  Nashville showcase last month, J.T.  performed the MC honors as well as singing his usual "family-friendly" show. Don Frost, producer and TV Host, has just asked Jim  to perform on a regular basis at the Smoky Mountain Gospel Theatre in Pidgeon Forge.  J.T.  is looking forward to 'keeping on his toes' with the live audience, while warming up his voice by coaching during the week.  Jim tries to commit to 25 church weekends per year, and looks forward to singing Inspirational Country and Southern Gospel full-time. A special call has been put upon him, and he eagerly awaits fulfilling his Ministry. Whether the venue is secular or non-secular, the music  will  be family-friendly and encouraging.

Naturally, Jim comes prepared for a day's work when combining a concert, or solos, with a choir seminar for your church. Please link to : Choir Seminars and Solos in order to hear some samples of his art, and receive additional details of this unusual combination he is offering regional churches.  Prepared with guitar (s) in hand, Professor J.T.  leads a fun-filled seminar, topped off with a concert.  He enjoys being backed by the choir, or he is always ready-to-go, self-contained with his own CD music tracks or just his classical guitar.

Please contact us for pricing variations, depending on length of tour, distance, and  size of venue. He'd love to come and sing gospel in your church, and perform for the people in your community at a festival or fair. He also enjoys including the Otwell Twins (formerly of the Welk Show) when performing live Inspirational Country*Texas-style!
